Method 3 Cloud computing

Cloud computing – I’m concerned about privacy issues also. Why not just store sensitive files locally? One vendor can buy out another vendor easily – we see that all the time in the library world. Prices and terms change.

My library already uses the Cloud and pays for it – hosted services to maintain data. Where does the IT department fit in with all of this?

The Library also uses Google Docs as part of a consortium of ILS users. We share our opinions about proposed ILS enhancements and this seems to work well.

Methods 1 and 2

This is my first attempt at blogging. Let's see how it goes.

Library 2.0 and Web 2.0 assignment and thoughts: What do terms Web 2.0 and Library 2.0 mean to me – web is no longer a series of static pages. User interaction and contribution is now the method for much of the content on the web.
To the library – patrons expect more and more access and participation. It seems like every business enterprise, corporate mascot, etc., now has their own twitter and Facebook followings. Perhaps the library should join in.
Libraries in general – public libraries seem to be taking the lead in this area.
